Welcome To  Our Web Site

Thank you for visiting the St. Mary Magdalen Knights of Columbus Council 14982 website.  As a young and growing Council, we welcome any interest you have in learning more about the Knights and joining us in our mission to serve Church & Society.  We have many activities both within the Parish (pancake breakfast) and for the community (Connelly House Dinner).  Please take a look at our website and contact us for more information.

The Knights of Columbus is an organization of men dedicated to service for the Church and Society.  The Knights were formed in 1881 and incorporated in 1882 in New Haven, CT by Father Michael J. McGivney.

The St. Mary Magdalene Council (#14982) was formed on March 12th, 2010

The Knights have 4 core principles for which they stand.

Charity – Knights of St. Mary Magdalene show love for their neighbors by conducting working with the Bethesda Project to provide food and fellowship for the homeless men who eat and live at the Philadelphia Bethesda houses.  Knights recognize that our mission, and our faith in God, compels us to action. There is no better way to experience love and compassion than by helping those in need, a call we answer every day.

Unity – Knights of St. Mary Magdalene recognize that we can accomplish far more than any of us could individually. So we stick together, support one another and St. Mary Magdalene in parish projects such as the Pancake Breakfast, Spring Easter Egg Hunt, and Communion Breakfast.  The people of St. Mary Magdalene can count on the support and encouragement of your brother Knights as you work to make life better in your parish and community.

Fraternity – The Venerable Michael J. McGivney founded the Knights of Columbus, in large part, to provide assistance to the widows and children left behind when the family breadwinner died. The Order’s top-rated insurance program continues to do this today. Knights of St. Mary Magdalene watch out for and take care of one another.

Patriotism – Members of the Knights of Columbus, be they Americans, Canadians, Mexicans, Cubans, Filipinos, Poles, or Dominicans, are patriotic citizens. We are devoted to God and country, and believe in standing up for both. Knights remind the world that Catholics support their nations and are amongst the greatest citizens.
